Just as many atheists feel the need to deny the probability of a divine creator, even more theists are compelled to spread the word of God and thereby denounce atheism. It is an ongoing debate that has raged for millennia. Today, with increasingly aggressive action taken to remove God from society, it is more important than ever to believe and encourage others to as well.
The belief in a creator is primal to human beings.
Whether or not we receive a formal education in a given religion, how obvious it is that God exists! Our minds, our ability to reason, and most of all, our understanding of the difference between right and wrong, all point toward a higher purpose for our lives. As religions vary on the possible punishments to be faced if we do not believe and repent, it seems wiser to focus on the positive benefits of theism while we are still alive. Both our physical and psychological health improves with belief. We grow stronger and more enlightened the deeper we open our hearts to God. Atheists are no threat to those who already know these rewards, but they are to the millions who have not yet made up their minds.
Denying atheism is not really denial per se.
It is refusing to get bogged down in negativity and doubt regarding the love of our Creator. Atheists are liars. They lie to themselves and to the rest of the world. Most cannot stand even to discuss the prospect of God or religion in general. They are dismissive and hide behind a facade of arrogance that misleads and discourages. Proof of this can be found in the numerous books and pieces of artwork that make fun of religious icons and exude a bitterness and hostility characteristic of non-believers. Even if not for the belief in a supernatural source of the universe, theists have an obligation to challenge atheists for the well-being of society.
No matter what faith a person may find, so long as it is positive and keeps God at the center of his life, it is always superior to a lack of faith. Everyone is entitled to believe whatever they choose of course, but happiness will never be found in denying God. Hope is what makes us go on.
